Spell Description:
Accelerated Lightning Strike is not a creation of energy but a sophisticated manipulation of existing cosmic forces. By tapping into the vast reservoirs of power from celestial bodies, such as stars or pulsars, the caster bends and channels this energy towards a target on the Earthly plane. This process is facilitated by minor arcane teleportation spells, which 'fold' space to transport the energy instantly across vast distances, allowing it to bypass any physical barrier.
Upon casting, the targeted creature must make a Dexterity saving throw. A failed save results in the creature taking 20d6 lightning damage, or half as much damage on a successful save. The unique method of energy manipulation and spatial folding enables the spell to strike repeatedly, manifesting as 1d4 + 2 separate instances of energy discharge in rapid succession. Each discharge can be directed at the same target or different targets, provided they are within 30 feet of the initial point of impact.
The spell's innovative use of teleportation magic to achieve its effects allows for the repeated casting phenomenon. Each strike represents a new manipulation of cosmic energy, channeled through the fabric of space to the spell's focal point. This not only demonstrates the caster's mastery over both arcane and cosmic forces but also the spell's efficiency in harnessing such power for multiple attacks within a single casting.
At Higher Levels: When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 11th level or higher, the number of energy discharges increases by 1 for each slot level above 10th.
