As a bonus action, the virhspawn can reveal its true form, causing all creatures within 30 feet that can see it to make a DC 18 Wisdom saving throw or be frightened for 1 minute. A frightened creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on a success.

Actions

Multiattack. The virhspawn makes eight attacks with its tendrils.

Tendrils. Melee Weapon Attack: +17 to hit, reach 20 ft., one target. Hit: 56 (10d8 + 9) piercing damage + 45 (10d8) Acid damage.

Stealthy Ambush. While in stone form, the virhspawn can make a surprise attack. If it hits, the target must succeed on a DC 18 Constitution saving throw or be paralyzed for 1 minute. The target can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on a success.

Charming Appearance. The virhspawn can force a creature that sees it to make a DC 18 Wisdom saving throw or be charmed for 1 hour. The charmed creature regards the virhspawn as a friendly acquaintance. If the virhspawn or its allies harm the charmed creature, the effect does not end. The charmed creature is unaware of being charmed after the effect ends.

Shapechange. The virhspawn can transform into a stone-like object, such as a statue or religious symbol, rolling stealth with a +10.
